Critigen Presentations at UC Paper Sessions

R4 Forest Plan Revision Geospatial Standardization Pilot

Presenter: Angela Johnson (for Bo Wilmer)

Abstract: This pilot effort was to develop a standard set of geospatial information and an accompanying documented methodology to be used in forest plan revision activities in Region 4 of United States Forest Service (USFS). Using a StoryMap built on Esri WebGIS, this solution provides Regional Office program managers with the knowledge of the data to use during their broader scale assessment efforts that will be used by the Forests for individual revision efforts.

Day: Tuesday, June 28
Time: 10:15 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Room 27 B, San Diego Convention Center

Promoting Geospatial Insight to Advance the Navy Shore Enterprise

Presenters: Darrell Robertson, Ed Riegelmann

Abstract: The GeoReadiness program was established by NAVFAC to advance Navy shore enterprise missions. GeoReadiness provides Navy installation users with geospatial products and services that improve situational awareness and strengthen decision-making. In this presentation, we’ll describe how the GeoReadiness program has redefined itself, and built a next generation strategy to align with new and evolving missions of the Navy shore enterprise.

Day: Wednesday, June 29
Time: 1:30 PM – 2:45 PM
Location: Omni Ballroom A/B, Omni Hotel

Visualizing, Ranking, and Futuring Fish Habitat using ArcGIS Server

Presenters: Ed Riegelmann (for Frank Orr), Fritz Boettner

Abstract: Critigen was contracted by Downstream Strategies to develop a web-based mapping application for the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) with which fish habitat scientists could use hundreds of predictor and model output variables to visualize, rank, and perform future-state analyses to support policy decision making and habitat restoration activities. Critigen built a custom mapping application using the JavaScript API and developed complex ranking and futuring geoprocessing services which incorporated the R statistical package.

Day: Thursday, June 30
Time: 10:15 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Room 28 E, San Diego Convention Center
